Can anyone identify this 3/4 steel part pin I found rolling around in the cockpit of my Aero
I found the same part rolling about in the aft drain sump on my boat (#3200) yesterday ... was just about to post the same question. I need to check if the sheave is still there.
Looks like someone is not doing up the grub screws properly.

BLUE LOCKTITE IS FINE JUST DONT USE RED OR GREEN AS WILL NEED HEAT TO RELEASE AND NOT GOOD TO THE BOOM (OR OTHER COMPOSITE FITTINGS)

While you have the glue out also put a dab on the nut on the gooseneck to save another near miss.

Fantastic to have a happy ending and at no cost!
I have never had the problem, but a dab of glue on the screw may be a good idea

In case you were holding your breath for the resolution of this misadventure, here's what happened: the sheave stayed in place despite the loss of the retaining pin, and the grub screw remained in the boom, despite having loosened sufficiently to release the pin. And of course, the pin fell into my cockpit rather than into the deep blue sea, which is how I became aware of the problem. I was able to place the pin back in the boom, tighten the grub screw with an allen wrench, and declare victory -- or at least a truce.
Would anyone recommend using blue loctite to hold the grub screw in place so that this never happens again?

Oh wow -- thank you!!!
So should I assume that I'll need a new grub screw (it's not rollling in the cockpit so I guess it's at the bottom of the lake)?
(The boat is one hundred miles from here, so I can't run out to the garage to check. But I can order the part I hope...)

Thanks to Noah at RS for confirming that this is the pin that holds in the sheave at the outboard end of the boom. Held in by a small grub screw.

I hesitate to think about what block, shackle, or spar is going to break loose during my next heavy air sail.
Thanks in advance
