I would take the boat to an RS Authorised Repairer.  It may well be that they cannot give certainty on the extent, depth, of the damage until they start grinding back

You'll find they will work with Noble anyway, and will advise whether you should make a claim.  You could also contact Noble and go though the claim process.  They are very good at keeping in touch.

If you act promptly Noble will treat it as a single incident accident and may well cover the cost.  If you delay and have it fixed with other scratches and dinks they' could refuse the claim as wear and tear.

I've had more significant damage repaired under a Noble claim where they couldn't recover costs from a third party.  Then my next year's preniun rose by approx £10 on a gross premium circa £90.  And the year after that thre was no increase.

Tough call. Maybe discuss with some of your local Aero sailors looking at the boat?
Is it a place where you jump in/out of the boat, creating more stress risks.
If not particularly stressed in that area, and you're reasonably confident in doing a local repair, and the boat is otherwise in good nick, then you could maybe flatten/grind/sand off a small surrounding patch of non-slip, mask off and apply a small local repair, not invisible, just a temporary protective repair (a boat builder will grind this back later anyway).
Mark the end extents of the cracks, and monitor. If they start to extend, off to the boat builder straight away. .
Otherwise, finish your sailing season, save up your boat builder repairs until you have a few dings and chips, then get them done all at once?
If you're not confident, just go straight to a boat builder.
And if you're planning to sell the boat soonish, obviously you want to keep her looking nice, not just functional.
As for insurance, I'd be surprised if a professional repair, for this small damage, were to to be quoted much if any more than the insurance excess.

That's really bad luck. But it's certainly repairable.
It looks like the sharp edge has sheared through the outer skin of the cockpit floor. My feeling is that simply filling the indent would not be a permanent repair because the edges of the crack would be susceptible to future damage. I would expect a professional repairer would clean off the non-slip finish in a wide area around the crack, so that the outer skin can be properly repaired to seal the skin and restore its full strength. The area can then be faired and the non-slip re-applied.
So unless you're really confident, I would recommend a professional repair in this instance.

I managed to drop my daggerboard and it landed on the cockpit floor on the trailing edge corner and cracked the outer skin, see attached photo. Any tips on repair, is this a DIY repair or best getting it done professionally? Also what's people's experience with getting something like this repaired through insurance, does it cost you more through increased future premiums than just paying for it yourself? I'm with Noble in the UK and not had any other claims but am only in my first year with the boat.
Many thanks.
