transport with truck extender help
Here is the use of the truck extender which allow me to lift only half the Aero weight. The Aero is supported 4 places on the rack and a round swimming foam noodle in the car is used as a roller for protection and loading. Eight feet is supported and 5 feet hangs over the extender with the Aero strapped in 2 places. The kayak dolly stays attached when transporting. This works great for my 1.5 mile back road drive to a launch site on the local lake.

Hi Winnesail,
I managed to measue this for you last night. It was a little awkward as I had my RS Aero on the car roof!
The RS Aero beam is 1.02 meters (40 inches) at a distance 1.50 metres (59 inches) back from the bow.
I hope this helps and you are able to make it work for you,
Peter

Thinking about buying an Aero, but would like to know if I can transport it 2 kilometers like I carry 14 and 16 foot kayaks. Both stick way outside our SUV on a truck extender, but for a short haul on back roads it does not matter, and hardly any lifting is needed. I would appreciate if someone would measure the distance from the bow to a point where the beam is 1.02 meters (40 inches).
