Upwind Mode, Waves & Boat Work

19 year old Noah Rees is certainly one of the world's fastest improving RS Aero sailors. He has ascended the leader board to finish our three RS Aero 7 World Championships in 20th in France, 11th in the UK and then a 3rd place podium in Australia. Will he win next time? Would you bet against him? Win or not, he's a top bloke and happy to share some of the skills he has picked up so far on his incredible journey;
- 'High or Low Upwind? - Regularly change mode upwind between wave sets to get the most out of your RS Aero. With the hull being so light it’s easy to accelerate, so oscillating between high mode and low mode between wave sets and shifts helps with upwind boat speed and velocity made good.
- Waves Downwind - Be aware of not stalling on the tops of waves by being proactive in pushing the bow down the face of slower moving rollers in marginal conditions and moving body weight when you feel or hear the change in motion to help link up the wave surfs.
- Boat Work - Stay on top of this to heavily reduce any risk of breakages! I always completely re-rope my RS Aero before the summer's events each year.'
